Bheemeshwari Adventure and Nature Camp
The River Cauvery is hardly what one would call tame. Its course includes gorges, waterfalls, rapids, dense forests and much more. The Bheemeshwari Adventure and Nature Camp is a paean to this majestic river. A wonderful mix of delightful nature and wild adventure, this camp is close enough for easy access and far enough to cut yourself off from the everyday humdrum.
Whether it’s action-packed adventure or just a chance to get closer to nature, Bheemeshwari Nature and Adventure Camp is just the place for it. A range of adventurous activities from zip line, rope walking, kayaking, etc. are worth trying. Wildlife that can be spotted in these parts includes elephants, deer, crocodiles, turtles, snakes and about two hundred bird species. But the chief crowd puller is the Mahseer – the largest tropical gamefish known to man. Though you can’t try catch one here anymore, this elusive monster still exercises a lot of clout in these parts.
Bheemeshwari is a haven for over 200 species of birds. To name a few - grey headed fish eagle, pied crested cuckoo, darter etc. Mammals include sambar, spotted deer, jackals, elephants and leopards. However bheemeshwari is known for mahseer fish around the world. Anglers come to this place and end up in angling 100 pounds mahseer many a times. Activities possible: Joy fishing, a coracle ride in river cauvery, professional angling, river rafting during monsoon, trek to 4000 feet high basavana betta. Water sports, Zip-Line, Burma Loops, Parallel Walk, Cat Walk, Elephant Walk, Rappelling, Pool Kayaking (depends on water level), Nature Walk and Coracle Ride Season: he best time to visit is just after the monsoons, between August and February, when the river is alive and the forest is thick and verdant. This is the best time for birdwatching as well – river terns, fishing eagles, wood peckers, kingfishers and other water birds flock here. During the other months, the water recedes and reveals wide sand banks, which are great for idling away the evening. The summer months (March – June) can be very warm, especially in the afternoon.. Corporates can also do a day out to this place. .

Bheemeswari is located at a distance of 100km from Bangalore city ,off the Kanakapura- Kollegala highway. About 15 km past the town of Kanakpura, you have turn to left at sathanur and go down the Muttathi Road. 5km after Muttathi, you will reach Bheemeswari fishing camp.
